Porto de Portimão lies in the mouth of the Arade estuary in the western Algarve, and is one of the two Algarve commercial ports. Jurisdiction passed from the IPTM to the APS in 2014. The commercial quay takes cruise calls, and Marina de Portimão occupies a separate part of the same estuary.
