Doca de Recreio de Faro lies in the centre of Faro, on the waterfront beside the Jardim Manuel Bívar and the old town wall. Access from the Ria Formosa is limited by the railway line and there is no buoyed navigation channel to the entrance, so the dock takes small boats only. Larger visiting boats use the anchorage in the Ria Formosa near the city.
