The José Régio House Museum is the former home in Portalegre of José Régio, the pen name of the writer and teacher José Maria dos Reis Pereira, who lived and taught in the city. The house keeps the collections he gathered, above all popular religious art, with around 400 figures of Christ.
The museum shows the house as the writer lived in it, with its furniture and his collections of sacred and folk art.
