Pinhão is a village at the centre of the Douro wine region, where the Pinhão River meets the Douro, in the municipality of Alijó. Its railway station on the Douro line and its river quay make it a starting point for visits to the wine estates of the valley.
Pinhão lies inside the Alto Douro Wine Region, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
