Instituto Superior Técnico was founded on 23 May 1911 and is the engineering and technology school of Universidade de Lisboa. Its seat is the Alameda campus in Lisboa. A second campus opened in 2000 at Taguspark in Oeiras, the first science and technology park in Portugal, and the Tecnológico e Nuclear campus was added in 2012.
