The Lisbon coastline stretches along the Tagus River, from Algés to Parque das Nações. As we enter Lisbon from Cascais via Avenida Marginal, we are met with the proximity to the river, the Algés tower, the gardens of Belém… we feel we are in Lisbon, with the grandeur of the 25 de Abril Bridge in Alcântara, the nautical ambiance near Av. 24 de Julho, until we reach Cais do Sodré, the modernized waterfront area near Terreiro do Paço, the industrial zone of Beato, and finally, we feel the modernity of the contemporary architecture of Parque das Nações, a district created in the 1990s in preparation for the 1998 World Expo, with construction and urban planning initiated a few years before the expo’s opening in 98!
